The Guitar Center Distribution Center is currently looking for a Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance on our 2nd Shift and our 3rd Shift. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing work that ensures the reliability of all distribution center equipment and systems. This work includes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs, spare parts inventory, as well as written documentation of all work performed and materials used.
The schedule is Monday - Friday, 4:00 pm to 12:30 am OR Friday - Sunday, 6:00am to 6:30pm.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on conveyor systems.
- Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on all lift trucks and powered equipment, dock plates, truck restraints, and overhead doors.
- Perform repairs and modifications to facility electrical and lighting systems.
- Perform repairs and preventive maintenance to HVAC system, including office and warehouse units.
- Utilize parts manuals and the computerized maintenance management system to identify required parts.
- Complete interior finish work including painting and drywall work.
- Perform repairs to plumbing system including restroom fixtures.
- General building and grounds maintenance and housekeeping.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Minimum one year of relevant work experience in one or more of the following fields: mechanical, electrical, electronics, lift truck repair.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas preferred: conveyor systems, Raymond electric forklifts, facility electrical systems (including 480V 3 phase), welding and fabrication, HVAC (non-refrigerant), plumbing, dock levelers and overhead doors.
- Must be able to provide own set of basic hand tools.
- Must have the aptitude to be Guitar Center certified to operate all powered equipment and able to satisfy certification process within first 90 days of employment.
- Continuous mental and/or visual attention; the work requires constant alertness in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on an occasional basis.
- The physical demand typically applied in this job includes: lifting, pulling, reaching, carrying, pushing, standing, walking, stooping, and bending.
- Must be flexible to working overtime, which is sometimes mandatory.
- Maintains equipment through a comprehensive preventive/predictive maintenance program.
- Identifies and remedies problems with mechanical, electrical, electronic and HVACP equipment.
- Coordinates emergency repairs with Maintenance staff and Operations Management.
- Maintains equipment and inventory records.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Vo-Tech degree preferred.
- Valid drivers' license required and the aptitude to be certified to operate all powered equipment.
- 2 to 4 years' experience in one or more of the following areas: mechanical, electrical, electronics, and welding preferred.
- Demonstrated skills in the following areas: conveyor systems, Raymond electric forklifts, facility electrical systems (including 480V 3 phase), HVAC (non-refrigerant), plumbing, dock levelers, overhead doors, welding and fabrication preferred.
- Must be able to supply basic hand tools.
