PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Guitar Center is looking for an innovative Supply Chain Systems leader who will be responsible for managing all applications, teams, projects, and strategy for following systems: order management, warehouse management, distribution, logistics systems and transportation systems.

 

This individual should have demonstrated a track record of successfully implementing Supply Chain applications in the past such as OMS, WMS, Vendor Management applications and transportation applications. Perfect candidate will have a strong desire to identify and utilize data within the supply chain systems to determine meaningful insight that can guide direction for the business to bring revenue or cost. The candidate must have extensive design and solution expertise to functionally and technically architect enhancements for applications. Also the individual should be strongly familiar with omnichannel world and today's retail environment to ensure that customer is served with the best possible experience from order initiation through delivery. Furthermore the individual should be hands on, detail oriented and possess development expertise; if needed this person should be able to review the code, design and guide developers.

 

Moreover, this individual is expected to be very familiar with industry trends and cloud base/saas solutions in the market. The individual should provide thought leadership and find ways to setup applications for futuristic micro services architecture on cloud. Lastly this individual should have a track record of building and developing successful technology team to run and govern order management value stream, its enhancements and support.

 

This is a highly visible role reporting into the VP of Supply Chain Systems and will interact with VP/SVP's and C level leaders in the enterprise. This person will serve as a key member of Information Technology organization who can stabilize and manage OMS systems.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Oversee the entire applications portfolio of projects, support, long/short term strategy, department budgets, resources and vendors for following areas and applications:
  • Order Management Systems currently in use: Sterling OMS, Store order capture, Call Center order capture, store order fulfillment, returns management, souring and allocation management.
  • Warehouse Management systems: Manhattan PKMS, High Jump
  • Logistics systems: Vendornet, Product Information Management Systems, Transportation systems.
  • Provide value streams, strategy, direction and steps to stabilize and enhance order management technology platform to be state of the art that allows following: Global inventory, complete Omni channel experience for all brands direct/indirect, seamless customer and store experience, full visibility/reporting and insights, automation for order/backorder management, better instrumentation for sustainability and scalability.
  • Provide value streams, strategy, direction, hands on support and hands on project execution to all applications in the of portfolio of order management space so that they have automation, fluid integration, low TCO, scalability and ease of use. Application in this area include store fulfillment, fraud checking, call center order intake, store order intake, inventory/store/order lookup applications, and curb side pickup application.
  • Maintain and enhance order sourcing, allocation and back order management by ensuring that orders are fulfilled correctly and timely. Ensuring that no backorder is taken when inventory is available in the supply chain.
  • Accountable for the maintenance, security, scalability, compliance of all applications. Perform peak season planning and ensure proper mitigations and strategy in place to support peak volume.
  • Continue to seek better applications, vendor partners and latest technologies that can be leveraged to lower cost and improve experience for internal & external customers.
  • Thought leader, Stakeholder and Product Manager who can understands entire integration landscape to design end to end solutions, implement them and provide data driven ROI analysis to prove success or opportunities.
  • Responsible and accountable for managing all department budgets including CMNR, Opex, Capex, Resources, and Vendors.
  • Accountable for establishing best practices, governance, platform for 24/7 support coverage, coaching & development, culture of motivation and accountability and continuous improvements of systems and resources.
  • Serve as the primary interface between inter-department executive management and the Development team, third party vendors, and business leaders.
  • Manage the technical support leaders of business systems for all IT customers utilizing both internal and external resources.
  • Provide Tier 3 on-call support leadership for IT operational support and issues as required.
  • Able to guide and manage product owners, QA resources, project managers to ensure successful prioritization, execution and delivery of portfolio.
  • Responsible for compliance with Sarbanes Oxley Policies/PCI as it pertains to Configuration Management, Security and Business Continuance.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & SPECIAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Bachelor's Degree (or 4 years of equivalent work experience), preferably in Information Technology or Computer Science.
  • 10 years of relevant work experience in managing and providing application development, maintenance and support (in addition to degree or years of previous experience)
  • 7 years of experience with Order Management and Supply Chain Applications
  • 5 years of experience developing oms code
  • 5 years of experience in software development leadership roles
  • 5 years managing and supporting retail applications
  • 5 years of experience managing an on-shore/off-shore model for team resources for administrative support and development.
  • 5 years of experience managing vendor project engagements and ongoing partnerships.
  • 5 years of experience with cost control, budget development and monitoring or similar P&L responsibility.
  • Past developer and hands on experience with Sterling OMS Software Development, OMS Database, OMS Configuration and Properties so he/she can guide the technical design and development.
  • Extremely hands on and passion to conduct and participate in Hackathons.
  • Business Acumen and capable to come up with business enhancements/solutions leveraging technology.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Share Point, Project, Visio, & Sarbanes Oxley.

 

Analytical Skills: Able to run queries directly within OMS to explore information, data, and reports, and other items in order to identify issues and extract meaningful insights, which can be used to better understand and improve business performance. Able to evaluate and resolve problems and issues.

 

Business Acumen: Understands how the business works including key business drivers, important company strategies, competition, and financial data impacting the department/organization. Effectively plans, sets goals, and makes business decisions that support financial targets. Identify key OMS reports that business stake holders would benefit from by seeing insights and opportunities.

 

Collaboration: Able to develop cooperation and teamwork while participating in and leading groups, working toward solutions which generally benefit all involved parties. Able to build relationships with others by offering help and providing suggestions for improvement.

 

Customer Focus: Understands customer service principles and the importance of providing an excellent customer experience. Keeps internal and external customers in mind when designing or executing processes or procedures.

 

Delegation: Able to delegate both routine and significant tasks and decisions. Assesses employees' readiness and ability, and assigns tasks that are appropriate to their skill level. Follows up as needed and shares both responsibility and accountability.

 

Initiative: Able to identify opportunities & issues and assess, prioritize and follow through on work activities to capitalize or resolve them. Able to take positive action without being requested to do so. Identifies methods for improving existing processes, practices, and procedures.

Communication: Able to communicate through various means with diverse people in a clear, concise, and courteous manner. Able to effectively interact with management of all levels throughout the organization.

Pay Rate: $145,00 - $182,000/yr depending on background and experience.

This position is eligible to participate in the Guitar Center Company bonus program based on Company performance.
