Position Summary: Lead Finish Technician

The Lead Finish Technician's main responsibility is to supervise the installation of low-voltage systems in residential projects. They will collaborate while working with other installation technicians to mentor and train each installer in the proper execution of all required install techniques. They possess all the skills of an Apprentice, Field Technician, and Lead Technician.

 

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Under the daily direction of the Production Manager, Lead Technician will be focused on managing the installation of final system components in mostly finished environments.
  • Installation of final system components and testing per AVDG documentation.
  • Provides guidance to other technicians on-site and gives direction with respect to best practices and installation techniques.
  • Interface when needed with builders, architects, owner reps, clients and other trades in respect to on-site activities.
  • Provide daily status report to Project Manager, Engineering Manager and Production Manager using prescribed formats.
  • Provide and maintain your hand tools for your position.
  • Communicate with supervisors with critical issues in a timely manner.
  • Attend company meetings, respond to email, and questions from other departments regarding projects, work with other departments to continue the refinement of AVDG processes.
  • Submit Field Notes and project deviations in a timely manner.
  • Other duties as required or assigned by company management as needed.

 

To join our band, you'll need the following experience:

  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent training/experience
  • Must be willing to work in a team environment.
  • Minimum of 5-year work experience in the Residential AV industry.
  • Ability to read and comprehend detailed architectural drawings, bid specs and flow charts.
  • Applicant must be proficient in their knowledge of theater design and commissioning.
  • Must be able to recognize and work with the team to rectify potential design issues.
  • Audio Video calibration is a plus, but not a necessity.
  • A proficiency in-system programming is a plus, but not a necessity. Lutron, Crestron, RTI, and Dante are all desirable.
  • A proficiency in network design and maintenance is a plus, but not a necessity. AV over IP experience is desirable.
  • OSHA 10 certification is desired but not required.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and flexibility to change gears and solve problems.
  • Works with a sense of urgency and focused effort on daily workflow and project requirements.
  • Self-managed and able to work in varied environments as required.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds for up to 100 feet. 100 pounds vertical lift.
  • Operate a motor vehicle with a valid, State-issued driver’s license.
  • Aptitude for understanding and assisting others with technology and construction
