PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Senior Manager, Displays, Capital Projects & Store Technology is responsible for creating and executing in-store displays, and developing a highly functional interactive Tech experience to deliver a highly branded and elevated shopping environment that drives sales.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Create and execute in-store displays program for existing, new, relocated and remodeled stores, including:
  • Fixtures for perimeter, floor, and counters including Repairs, Rentals and Lessons
  • Work closely with vendors on concept and development, engineering, and rollout
  • Create and receive POs, track and report costs and estimates
  • Develop Merchandising Guide for GOs, installation and build instructions
  • Develop and manage CAPEX budget for in-store projects
  • Partner with cross-functional team members in Sourcing, Merchandising/IM Ops, and Grand Opening team, Construction, Store Operations to implement approved initiatives
  • Manage and direct department staff (including hiring for open positions, coaching and development, performance evaluation), providing direction to team members to ensure accurate and timely implementation of all departmental needs and responsibilities
  • Visit stores and travel to Grand Openings to assess fixture installations and layouts, ordering needs
  • Additional duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & SPECIAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or 4 years of equivalent work experience)
  • Valid state driver’s license and automotive insurance
  • 8 years of relevant work experience (in addition to degree or years of previous experience)
  • 4 years of experience leading teams
  • 5 years of work experience in design, architecture, space planning, and/or visual merchandising in a retail environment required
  • Advanced understanding of laws, codes and requirements applicable to the Visual Merchandising function
  • Basic understanding of construction and mechanical engineering skills
  • Skilled proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Intermediate proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)

Pay Rate: $85,000 - $105,000/yr depending on background and experience.

This position is eligible to participate in the Guitar Center Company bonus program based on Company performance
