SUMMARY:

The AP Analyst will be responsible for researching and resolving invoicing, vendor remittance questions, and general accounts payable issues. They will provide analytical, internal, and customer-facing support for Accounts Payable functions. This person is responsible for daily administrative, data entry & correction related to AP invoices and cheque requests. They will support training for AP limited access teams, including HR and Tax. Additional functions include system reporting and providing cross-team backup to the Procurement & Accounts Payable teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process large volumes of time-critical invoices for payment
  • Monitor open receipts and unmatched invoice reports daily to verify proper transaction processing
  • Research and resolve any invoice issues and unpaid invoices
  • Support training documentation for AP functions
  • Support and execute initiatives to drive process automation and optimization, improved cash flow and cash management practices
  • Work closely with procurement team to support the P2P function, understanding workflow and interrelationship between the procurement and AP modules
  • Expedite/escalate invoice reconciliation issues
  • Maintain standard operating procedures and policies, maintain internal controls, mitigate operational risks, and ensure compliance with SOX regulations
  • Reconcile vendor statements and address vendor remittance questions
  • Professional communication/interaction with diverse stakeholders
  • Invoice processing and other A/P-related tasks
  • Other assignments and additional duties as assigned

EDUCATION & REQUIREMENTS: This position is Full-time, in-office

  • Experience reconciling A/P vendor statements
  • Experience resolving invoice problems
  • Experience with processing Corporate Cards and Expense Reports
  • Bachelors required or related field preferred or 4 years of relevant work experience
  • 1 year of relevant work experience
  • Novice understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Deep understanding of financial controls, segregation of duties, and SOX compliance
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles
  • Intermediate knowledge and familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook

Pay Rate: $60,000- $75,000/yr depending on background and experience.
