Pay Rate: $130,200 - $178,970 depending on background and experience

This position is eligible to participate in the Guitar Center Company bonus program based on Company performance.

The Director, Loss Prevention & Safety will be responsible for enterprise-wide Asset Protection leadership and will be tasked with bringing a fresh perspective and cutting-edge thinking to Guitar Center’s Asset Protection practices and operation.

Qualified candidates will be familiar with emerging industry-wide trends, including technology and data analytics. Working cross-functionally, the leader will identify and develop leading industry practices to ensure company assets are safeguarded. They will also project our leadership competencies to Build Talent, Establish Personal Credibility, Drive Change, Deliver Performance and Plan & Organize.

The Director of Asset Protection oversees and directs all related functions for a Corporate Office, multi-state distribution centers and large retail store network. Incumbent will be responsible for enterprise direction and strategy as it pertains to Asset Protection with a goal of minimizing shrink, reducing loss and maximizing security and associate safety as well as overall performance of the Asset Protection function.

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and review of asset protection methodologies, strategies, procedures, and policies to safeguard of Company asset.
  • Responsible for the oversight of physical security, associate safety, and asset protection for the corporate office, distribution center(s), and stores.
  • Lead the Asset Protection team in matters involving audits, investigations and reporting on possible violations of policy as well as safety issues.
  • Ensures that proper policies and procedures are followed in all Asset Protection investigatory matters.
  • Provide oversight, review, and drive communication to management reporting on key asset protection metrics.
  • Champion effective management strategies and associate development programs to ensure engagement around Asset Protection programs.
  • Manages direct reports which includes hiring and staffing an effective team, training and development, completing accurate performance assessments and conducting disciplinary actions when appropriate.
  • Maintain an active presence in stores and elsewhere in the business as needed to manage programs successfully and anticipate risk before occurrence.
  • Create and lead risk, safety and health programs for the enterprise.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

 

To join our band you’ll need the following experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or 4 years of equivalent work experience)
  • 12 years of relevant work experience, with 8-10 years of experience in progressive Loss Prevention roles, ideally in hard goods-based retail organizations
  • A deep and demonstrated track record of effectively responding to sensitive inquiries or complaints
  • Progressive program development experience and a demonstrated track record with reducing organizational shrinkage
  • 7 years of experience leading teams
  • Intermediate proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
