PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The purpose of this job is to manage the Strategic Planning Group (SPG) in the functions of resource allocation analysis, growth opportunity assessment, test design and measurement, financial modeling, analysis of return on investment, analysis of sales and margin impact of business promotions programs and/or changes, research and competitor assessment, and market share analysis for Guitar Center enterprise-wide.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Manage or self-perform data gathering and analysis
Identify key actionable insights from data and analysis, synthesize these findings and create story lined presentations to communicate these findings to management
Review and structure the work product of an analyst and/or senior analyst
Manage an analyst and/or self-create financial models to assess business cases and scenarios
Build positive/successful working relationships with leaders across the company (the internal client) by working with business leads to design measurable tests to assess or track operational performance
Produce reports and/or dashboards which detail financial performance of particular promotions, business operations or business changes and, if disclosed to competitors or vendors, this information could have significant financial impact on the business.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS & SPECIAL ATTRIBUTES
Bachelors Degree (or 4 years of equivalent work experience), preferably in Finance, Math, Statistics, Engineering, or related field.
5 years of relevant work experience (in addition to degree or years of previous experience)
3 years of experience leading projects or products
3 years of experience in corporate strategy, financial planning and analysis or strategy consulting
Advanced-level ability with MS PowerPoint and Excel
Skilled proficiency reviewing complex Excel financial and data models
Intermediate proficiency pulling data with SQL
Pay Rate:$110,000 - $135,000 / annually depending on background and experience.
