Position Summary: Manager, Financial Reporting

The purpose of this job is to lead the accurate and timely preparation of U.S. GAAP financial statements and notes, as well as other financial reporting for internal and external users, including SEC reporting and lender requirements. The incumbent also manages the effective execution of annual financial statement audits, ensures proper application of accounting standards to company transactions, and oversees accounting procedures for selected accounts.

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:

• Manages the timely preparation of quarterly financial reports in accordance with U.S. GAAP as required on SEC Forms 10-Q and 10-K. Requires supervision of at least one staff or senior accountant preparer and coordination with finance and business teams to ensure all disclosures and supporting documentation are complete and accurate.
• Manages the timely preparation of monthly financial statement packages for lenders and management, including preparing and/or reviewing written analysis of variances to budget, prior year and trends. Assesses the adequacy of accounting policies & procedures and makes recommendations as appropriate.
• Coordinates the effective execution of annual financial statement audit, working with the independent auditor and GC accounting, finance and business teams to ensure timely and effective completion of client schedules and audit procedures. This includes a responsibility to provide expert advice to accounting personnel regarding audit evidence and audit procedures.
• Manages all aspects of the accounting for debt, equity, stock-based compensation and other accounts as assigned.
• Performs and/or reviews impairment analysis for fixed assets, goodwill and other intangible assets.
• Prepares or reviews script for quarterly earnings call with investors and works with finance and business teams to ensure prepared statements are accurate and supported.
• Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates by hiring and training, mentoring, assigning duties, providing recognition and ensuring diversity awareness.
• Additional duties as assigned.

To Join Our Band, You'll Need The Following Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• CPA
• 6 years of relevant work experience as a preparer or auditor of U.S. GAAP financial statements
• Intermediate knowledge of SEC reporting requirements
• 2 years of experience leading teams and/or managing projects
• Thorough understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting standards codification
• Workiva experience a plus
• Advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) user

Pay Rate: $130,000- $150,000 / annually depending on background and experience.This position is eligible to participate in the Guitar Center Company bonus program based on Company performance.
