The development manager for our Web/eCommerce applications platform, is a hands-on leadership position with the skills and experience to lead and manage an Web/eCommerce software development team and support company's growing ecommerce channel.
This role is accountable for providing on-time delivery of planned releases working closely with other technology teams, including Enterprise Integration, Database Administration, Information Security and other development teams, and external vendor partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Lead end to end solution delivery, including architecture, design, build, deployment and support. Work with a product mindset.
- Champion and drive an agile operating model from requirements to deployment, including driving automation through the software development life cycle.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and manage software products & features.
- Develop work plans, proactively manage team capacity, communicate priorities, and manage deadlines/deliverables with leadership.
- Build telemetry/monitoring, resilience, and security into the DNA of every product.
- Create and deliver superior customer (eCommerce and Web Self-service) experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Additional duties as assigned.

The first Music & Arts was located in a small house in Bethesda, MD and run by founder Benjamin O'Brien. When Music & Arts opened its doors in 1952, we offered printed music, music lessons, dance lessons, and art supplies. - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Technology, or equivalent work/industry experience.
- 8+ years of experience with a focus on architecture, design, and development of omni-channel commerce applications.
- Experience in managing offshore or remote teams and large scale web development projects.
- Deep understanding of ecommerce systems (e.g., ATG, Shopify, Magento, Demandware), content management system (e.g., OpenCMS).
- Working experience with Oracle ATG Commerce / eCommerce Suite / Commerce Tools / Salesforce eCommerce Suites.
- Demonstrated experience delivering web-front ends leveraging Nodejs, React and JavaScript, NO SQL.
- Demonstrated experience leading modernization initiatives focused on improving customer experience and self-service capabilities.
- Experience with AWS Services, including S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, Elastic Search etc.
- Understanding of CI/CD, GIT branching strategies.
- Experienced using messaging tools like TIBCO, KAFKA etc.
- Knowledge of design patterns MVC, MVP & other design patterns
- Working knowledge in database technologies, including cloud-native options.
- Hand on experience with HTML5, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript, React, SQL, Microservices, and REST API frameworks.
- Understanding of OMS and ERP Retail management systems and processes
- Self-Motivated; willing to take on new opportunities and learn new technologies.
- Good collaborator with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Working experience with agile methodology.
