Job Description

The Production Coordinator is responsible for providing production support for all of Guitar Center’s content creation including lifestyle photography, long and short-form video for our organic content and social channels, as well as paid media. The role plays a critical part in the pre-production, production, and post-production stages in ensuring we are providing deliverables that align with strategy, creative direction, timelines and budget.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, attending various shoots in a variety of locations multiple times a week, understands the goals of the shoots and their role in collaboratively supporting the larger team’s efforts with excellent communication skills and professionalism. Enthusiasm and appreciation for music, gear, and the production process is a must!

Once a concept has been approved, the Production Coordinator will work closely in partnership with the Production, Video, Photography, Audio, Content, and Social team leads in support of their efforts ensuring all requirements are met and in place as well as resources secured. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning of photo, video, and social shoots from helping to secure locations, to reporting for insurance and acquiring permitting as needed, to sourcing of gear, securing freelance crew, and coordinating schedule needs
  • Help with the preparation and distribution of the schedule and call sheet based off brief, outline, creative needs/shot list, talent and location availability, as well as production considerations
  • Attend pre-production meetings and help schedule when needed
  • Source gear and equipment for photo and video shoots, including pick up and returns working with the producer, merchant team, and vendors
  • Help secure equipment rentals with video, photo, and audio team. Contacting rental houses when necessary as well as Guitar Center stores and the distribution center
  • Maintain productions within budget based on approved scope, including estimate approval, and carefully tracking associated expenses
  • Provide administrative support for vendor on-boarding and payment.
  • Assist in keeping an organized tracking system of gear samples, backline and equipment inventory.
  • Understand the transportation needs of a particular shoot, working with the team collaboratively to coordinate cartage
  • Interface with outside crew as needed (Camera Ops, PA, Glam, Wardrobe, Location Reps, Vendor Reps, Talent, etc.)
  • Support in securing freelance production crew
  • Coordinate travel needs of team and freelance crew
  • Assist in acquiring and setting up of craft services as well as meals for crew and talent
  • Help in establishing crew parking, organizing equipment load-in, set-up and strike of shoots on locations
  • Set up & clean musical gear as needed for shoots
  • Serve as point of contact for deliveries
  • Photo Assisting as needed, helping set up shots, set up lighting equipment, hold reflectors, charge batteries, etc. 
  • Drive production van to and from shoot locations as needed
  • Assist in data management on set (DIT) operating within the established workflow from transferring and organizing of footage from cards to drives, to back up, and archiving of files

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a production assistant, coordinator, or producer freelancing or working at either an agency, creative production house or in the entertainment production field
  • Excellent project and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Comfortable in both an office environment and working on set
  • Takes initiative, demonstrating sound judgement and decision-making abilities with a solutions-oriented mentality
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Provides clear and effective communication verbally and or written
  • Tenacious, proactive and ability to work autonomously
  • Is receptive to feedback and takes direction well; not afraid to ask questions as to ensure alignment
  • Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks and projects
  • Must have a valid California Driver’s License and clean driving record
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs

Pay Rate: $24.00-$32.00/hr depending on background and experience.
