Position Summary:

As Manager, Organizational Development, you will play a critical role in building a culture of continuous learning, growth, engagement, and organizational effectiveness across the enterprise. This role delivers both learning and organizational development expertise to drive impactful change and build capability across our diverse family of brands.

Reporting to the Director of Organizational Development, you will lead strategic projects and talent development initiatives that shape culture, enhance engagement, and align our workforce with evolving business needs. You will also manage key systems and tools—like our Learning Management System (LMS)—to ensure scalable, consistent learning experiences across the enterprise.

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Deliver OD expertise to a variety of cross-functional and enterprise-level projects in partnership with senior leaders, including organization assessment, design, change and transition management, and culture transformation across the Guitar Center Company’s diverse brands.
  • Design and implement enterprise-wide learning strategies, programs, and resources that support employee development at all levels—from onboarding to advanced leadership growth.
  • Lead the management and optimization of the Learning Management System (LMS) to enable scalable, relevant, and user-friendly learning experiences.
  • Partner with the Director of OD to support the performance management process enterprise-wide, including streamlining workflows, revising tools and forms, enhancing reporting and communications, identifying best practices, building supporting resources, and promoting a culture of high performance.
  • Drive employee engagement strategies, including managing enterprise-wide engagement surveys, analyzing results, developing insights, and guiding leaders through action planning to improve team experience and performance.
  • Build trusted relationships and collaborate with teams in both in-person and virtual environments; partner closely with HR Business Partners and OD leaders to share expertise, transfer knowledge, and support sustainable development.
  • Conduct learning and organizational needs assessments to identify gaps and develop targeted, measurable interventions.
  • Facilitate engaging development sessions, workshops, and team effectiveness initiatives—both live and virtual.
  • Develop and maintain career development frameworks that guide internal mobility and upskilling.
  • Lead and develop direct report while also supporting support the ongoing development of the OD team through coaching, project leadership, and influence without direct managerial responsibility.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with a high degree of professionalism and integrity.
  • Prioritize efforts and allocate resources effectively to ensure speed and consistency in delivering value across a dynamic and growing business landscape.
  • Additional duties as required.

 

 

To join our band, you'll need the following experience:

  • Master’s Degree (or 4+ years of equivalent work experience), preferably in Organization Development, Human Resources Training and Development or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience translating OD strategies into practical business applications.
  • 2 years of experience leading teams.
  • 4 years of experience managing Organization Development programs.
  • Strong understanding of talent management, adult learning theory and workforce planning.
  • Basic understanding of Learning Management Systems.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Proficient in survey design, data analysis and interpretation of results.

Pay Rate: $115,000 - $130,000/yr depending on background and experience. This position is eligible to participate in the Guitar Center Company bonus program based on Company performance.
