We have been acknowledging Women’s History Month across the Guitar Center Company, shining a light on the incredible women who shape our industry and recognizing the work that still needs to be done.
Here are some of the highlights:
We kicked the month off by celebrating the remarkable women who have shattered glass ceilings in the music industry, from pioneering artists who redefined genres to producers and engineers who transformed the sound of music.
We offered webinars in support of mental health and family planning, and our Benefits team shared ways in which women can prioritize their health and well-being, physically and financially.
Music & Arts shared stories of the women in orchestral conducting, acknowledging there is still work to be done to break down barriers in this male-dominated field.
The Support Center at Westlake Village held a special event featuring the music of women over a 50-year span! Associates gathered in our new outdoor space, the Chord Yard, and enjoyed lunch catered by the Six String Café, our new cafeteria.
We partnered with the nonprofit She Is The Music to host a panel discussion, moderated by our Chief Human Resources Officer, Anne Buchanan, at our Hollywood store centered around the women behind the hit records – the engineers, producers, and songwriters shaping the sounds of today and tomorrow.
As Women's History Month comes to a close, we’re proud to celebrate the incredible moments we shared in honor of women in music. Let’s continue championing women in our lives — on and off the stage.
